Martin Scorsese works first, worries later on ‘The Irishman’ set

Martin Scorsese is the king of gangster films, but he’s no contract killer.

Cast members in Scorsese’s “The Irishman” are so excited about doing the legendary director’s upcoming Netflix film that some of them are fine with ironing out the details later.

“The contracts are so complicated that there is literally a team of lawyers working on them,” says a source close to the project, which stars Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Joe Pesci and Harvey Keitel. “They all trust Scorsese and know things are going to work out, but T’s were being crossed and I’s were being dotted while the cameras were rolling.”

“The Irishman” centers around missing Teamster boss Jimmy Hoffa, who disappeared in 1975. Pacino plays Hoffa in the film. De Niro stars as Frank (The Irishman) Sheeran, who author Charles Brandt said confessed to having killed Hoffa in an interview for his 2004 book “I Heard You Paint Houses.” The film is based on Brandt’s book.

De Niro and Pacino famously teamed-up in the 1995 film “Heat,” which also pit them against one another. In that film, Pacino got the best of Bobby D.
