Story by: Michael Hogan The Telegraph

Who’ll suffer the frustrating fate of just missing out on the grand glitterball final? We’re about to find out in the last results show of the series.

Yes, the eighth elimination looms, as our pro-celebrity pairings find out who’s safe and who’s doomed to face the dreaded dance-off.

I’m Michael, your virtual dance partner for tonight’s results show. It’s results showtime at 7.30pm on BBC One. I’ll be liveblogging from 7pm, providing build-up, rolling coverage, social media reaction and seasonal sarcasm.

Please join me – and join in, too. You can email me on [email protected],  tweet me on @michaelhogan or leave comments at the bottom of this blog. I’ll keep an eye on them all and report the highlights here.

On Saturday night, it was to dances per couple and the youngsters came out on top. The near-perfect Maisie Smith topped the standings, with HRVY just behind.

At the foot of the scoreboard was Ranvir Singh, cut adrift by four points when the scores from two dances were combined. But will viewer votes lift her clear? If so, the likes of Jamie Laing (again) or even Bill Bailey could be in dance-off danger.

Who’ll fall agonisingly at the last hurdle? Nearly time to staaaaaaart eliminating!
